M.I.A.?

Ah my friends, I am not forgetting, I am very busy though. I like being busy. For example this morning I left for work at 6:15 and got home this evening at 6:15. Then I went home teaching. So now I'm home, and while I could be doing other things, I want to enter something in the blog.

For those of you who don't already know I have a job now. I work at a company called IVIS that does sewer inspection and relines. I have a hard time describing what I do at work but I think I've been hired as some sort of miracle worker. It's fun, but long and tiring.

Last weekend was the Turkey Trot as most of you know. I participated, and despite being in worse shape, I did slightly better than last year. The rain was good.
And afterwards the annual Chimichanga Turkey dinner was fantastic. Congratulations to JAS for making this year another success.

The weekend before was my dear sister Sarah’s birthday. It was enjoyable to spend time with family as always. As if a good omen of the day, I took this picture. There was another just two days before that was even more spectacular, but I did not have my camera with me. It made me smile much.

Tomorrow I get to spend the whole day singing. It should also be fun. Next weekend is Conference/Thanksgiving. Will I ever get a day to just relax? I hope so. I also hope I see you all again often and soon.
Peace out.

Wow that is a great picture...we had a doozy of a double rainbow in front of the mountain outside our house the other day. I have never seen one so bright in my life. My picture of it SUCKS...hehe.

You do sound busy...but it's better to be too busy than broke. Hehe.

An entire day of singing? That is intense.
Now I have been watching the new season of Prison Break, and recently there has been some time spent in a sewer, and from watching that I hope that you never have to enter a sewer. But maybe you a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and spend a lot of time in the sewer, and maybe that is why you are so busy with "work".

You say "miracle worker" as if surprised by the expectation. You, as an engineer, are one of the shamans of our society. Its when things aren't going by the book, when there that you are supposed to magically know how to fix what we couldn't using our own experience, handbook, manuel, etc. Also, it is not uncommon as an engineer to be expected to predict the future accurately. We also had an engineer out here at my Grandparents a couple of weeks ago to draw legitimate lines in the soil where the new property line is now after 100 years of erosion from the river and rain and animals. It my Uncle and my Dad and the engineer all day in the ouring rain measuring the river, the soil and looking at the 100 year old map of the place and to come up with the new boundary line that he drew for us. And his word stands. No one will question his authority, for he is the engineer. Nathan, we put our trust in you, may you continue to use your powers for good.

Sounds like you are a superhero Nathan (re: previous comments).

Sounds like you are pleasantly busy. That's good.

Doesn't anyone else think that Nathan is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?

A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle...well, his favorite color is green, he will always protect and defend his friends from danger, he has a ready sense of humor - okay he must have a secret life as a fighting ninja turtle deep in the sewers of Edmonton. If I were him I would totally have added that to my profile page. I think its hot, I'm sure other girls would agree. Maybe he keeps it a secret so he can do good anonymously. You know, so he doesn't have to sort through the girls who would like him just because he's a ninja, from the ones who really care about him. Being an engineer and having a good voice and being a great cookie maker I bet he has his share of trouble in that department as it is. Poor Nathan, it must be wearying being one of the few truly great heros left in this crazy world.
